Biography

Tim Dore is a drug discovery professional and creative scientist. He is deeply experienced leading international, multidisciplinary research teams to conduct cutting-edge research in bioorganic and medicinal chemistry and chemical biology. He has a proven track record in conceiving, launching, and building new initiatives, driving drug discovery, and developing molecular tools for experimental innovation. He has held leadership roles in the biotechnology industry, creating and developing platform chemistry programs at Matchpoint Therapeutics and a Flagship Pioneering start-up. He runs an active consulting practice, providing expertise and leadership to start-up and established biotech companies and research institutions.

Prior to working in the biotech industry, Dr. Dore was on the faculty at the University of Georgia, where he was promoted and tenured. In 2010, he was a visiting professor at Kyoto University, and in 2012, joined the faculty at the nascent New York University Abu Dhabi, significantly contributing to the successful growth of its scientific research and teaching programs. Dr. Dore earned a BS in chemistry from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, working with Mike Crimmins, and a PhD in chemistry from Stanford University, working with Paul Wender. He completed postdoctoral training with Nobel Laureate Roger Y. Tsien at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the University of California, San Diego.
